Ex-Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Victor Malu is dead. He died at the age of 70.
A family source squealed that Malu died in the morning of Monday 9th October, 2017 at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt where he traveled for normal medical check-up.
For those who don’t know, Victor Malu was ECOMOG Commander (Peace Keeping Force), from August 1996 to January 1998 and also the Chief of Army Staff during ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, from May 1999 to April 2001.
He was born on 15th January, 1947. He led the Military Tribunal that tried the former Chief of General Staff, and Vice Chairman, Armed Forces Ruling Council, Gen. Oladipo Diya and others over the alleged failed coup plot against the then Head of State, Gen. Sanni Abacha.
