Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and his predecessor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim are at war.
Be that as it may, former Governor Ikedi Ohakim had expressed that he is not surprised that Okorocha prescribed psychiatric examination for a man who demanded that 16 months salaries and allowances the State is owing serving high court judges be cleared.
However, Okorocha took turn to lash at his predecessor when told Ohakim was planning massive protest to demand for immediate payment of the 16 months salaries and allowances owed the serving judges in the state, said… “Ohakim should be taken to a psychiatric hospital for examination.”
Ohakim who responded through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Collins Ughalaa lambasted Okorocha… “Okorocha was running his mouth again like someone that is suffering from verbal diarrhoea.”
“It is sad that Governor Okorocha asked that Dr. Ikedi Ohakim should be taken to a psychiatric hospital for examination, for demanding that serving honourable judges of Imo State, who are being owed 16 months salaries, should be paid without further delay.”
“The governor claimed that the judges were not owed salaries and allowances but one of the judges, Justice Pius Ifeanyi Okpara, died recently without being paid his entitlements. Okorocha should explain why the Owerri Branch of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, dragged his administration to court, in suit number NICN/OW/58/2017.”
